CALPASC Members Should Review the Current WCIRB Regulatory Filing for Possible Changers to Workers' Compensation Classification Wording
The WCIRB has been reviewing all the various classifications for the past 4 years. They have been trying to update changes to industries where classification phrases have outlived their usefulness. They are also trying to keep up with industry or technological changes that require different wording for proper clarity. They also are working to more clearly define which classification applies if there is potential for overlap.

In the latest filing, 45 different WC classes in construction had some level of change in wording. While Insurance Commissioner Jones has not finalized his ruling on the 2019 changes, it is expected he will approve these wording changes without revision. The entire filing is a pdf document of 620 pages.

CALPASC Director of Risk Management has provided the following LINK for members to quickly review if any applicable class codes are changing, and what page number of the document to find them.
